Postdoc Researcher

Ehsan Jahangiri

Postdoctoral Fellow in Yuille Lab
Johns Hopkins University

My research interests include statistical machine learning, computer vision, speech and language processing, signal processing, and mathematics/statistics.

Janne Kauttonen

Postdoctoral Fellow in Kuhlman Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

My expertise is in analysis of neuroimaging data (mainly fMRI and calcium) with broad research interests in brain functions, especially those related to top-down control, perception and neural circuits.

Vittal Premachandran

Postdoctoral Fellow in Yuille Lab
Johns Hopkins University

My research falls in the intersection of computer vision and machine learning. I am particularly interested in representation learning and is working on training and understanding deep neural networks for various visual tasks.

Kristin Quick

Postdoctoral Fellow in Kuhlman Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

My research interests include using machine learning, control theory, and neural circuitry to understand how sensory information is processed and perceived in different contexts.

Lingxi Xie

Postdoctoral Fellow in Yuille Lab
Johns Hopkins University

Lingxi Xie is interested on computer vision, multimedia information retrieval and machine learning. He has been working in image classification and image retrieval for years. Currently, he is working on using deep neural networks for visual understanding.

Wenhao Zhang

Postdoctoral Fellow in Lee Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

My research interests include bridging neural network dynamics with Bayesian inference, information integration and segregation, neural coding and statistical model to analyze neural data.

Graduate Student

Arish Alreja

Ph.D. student in Lee Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

My research interests include Biological and Computational Vision, Sensory Coding, Object Recognition, Multimodal Integration for Natural Scene Analysis, Neural Modeling, Statistical Learning, Reinforcement Learning and High Dimensional Data Analysis.

Timothy Chu

Ph.D. student in Miller and Lee Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

Berquin Feese

Ph.D. student in Kuhlman Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

Brian Jeon

Ph.D. student in Chase/Kuhlman Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

My research interest is using brain computer interface (BCI) technology in mice to understand how the brain learns. A BCI device lets a subject control a device such as a computer cursor or a robotic arm with neural activity. Specifically, I want to use BCI in mice to learn about how skill learning is mediated by the plasticity of the neural circuits in both the motor cortex and the sensory cortices.

Ge Huang (Summer)

Ph.D. student in Lee Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

Michael Leone

Ph.D. student in Doiron Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

I am currently interested in the role of multiple inhibitory subtypes in visual cortex, and how interactions among these types regulates state changes as well as impacts pyramidal cell responses to visual stimuli.

Zhihao Li

Master student in Lee Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

Weichao Qiu

Ph.D. student in Yuille Lab
Johns Hopkins University

My research focuses on creating virtual world using computer graphics. Synthetic images and annotation from the virtual world are used for computer vision and psychophysics experiments.

Patricia Stan

Ph.D. student in Kuhlman Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

The neural mechanisms underlying perception, learning, and attention.

Alexander Swain

Ph.D. student in Kuhlman Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

Xiaolong Wang

Ph.D. student in Gupta Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

My PhD thesis focuses on exploiting redundancy in visual data to train visual representations. Specifically, I focus on how we can extract supervision signals for domains where human labels are hard to come by.

Alex Wong

Ph.D. student in Yuille Lab
University of California, Los Angeles

In the past, I had worked on clustering methods suitable for large-scale streaming environments where the data is much larger than memory. Recently, I am interested in discovering semantically meaningful parts from objects with little supervision and using them to construct compositional models.

Yimeng Zhang

Ph.D. student in Lee Lab
Carnegie Mellon University

Zhishuai Zhang

Ph.D. student in Yuille Lab
Johns Hopkins University

Zhishuai Zhang is interested in computer vision, pattern recognition and machine learning. He is currently working on deep learning based part and object recognition.

Pengcheng Zhou

Ph.D. student in Kass Lab
Carnegie Mellon University
